Today marks a significant pivot for SpamGenius. After a deep dive into our user data, we discovered a challenging reality: while many enjoy our service, a small number of "free trial" users were consuming an unsustainable amount of resources—in one case, over $50 in data costs in a single month—only to churn immediately after.
To protect our loyal, long-term community and ensure the service remains sustainable, we are making two major changes:
- Farewell to Free Trials: Following the philosophy of creators like Pieter Levels, we are moving away from free trials to focus entirely on users who are ready to invest in a cleaner inbox.
- Tiered Pricing Model: Instead of a flat price hike that would unfairly impact everyone, we are introducing a 2-tier pricing system. This allows us to scale costs fairly based on actual usage.

SpamGenius is still finding its footing, and our operational costs remain high. However, we choose growth and protection over closure. Thank you for supporting us as we build a more sustainable future for your inbox. ❤️
